Hello!
My name is Kate Lanxon and I’m an artist based in Hertfordshire, in the UK.
After dabbling in various different mediums throughout my life, including watercolours, acrylics, gouache, and graphite, I discovered oil painting in early 2025.
During 2025, I took classes with various artists, most notably a week-long painting retreat with Alai Ganuza in San Sebastián, Spain. This was where I learnt how to paint alla prima (wet-on-wet) and discovered Alai’s unique approach to colour theory.
Since then I have built on this foundation and developed my own painting style, which is vibrant, colourful, and painterly.
